Synopsis
The benefits for schools of developing meaningful parental engagement have been well-known for more than twenty years. Within the last five years, successive government initiatives, the latest manifestations being The Children¬s Plan and the identification by BECTA of parental engagement as one of the four key strands needed for the successful introduction of online reporting. However, the national picture suggests that secondary schools in particular, although wishing to make this a priority, are lacking confidence when seeking to broaden their partnership with parents. There is clearly a need for guidance and clarity so that schools can implement the changes that will enable the cultural shift necessary to embrace meaningful parental engagement. This course is supported by ¬Climate Changer¬, the first CPD course in the western world to tackle the issues surrounding parental engagement in secondary/high schools. Delegates will learn how to use ¬Climate Changer¬ to develop the skills and confidence necessary to effectively introduce meaningful and successful parental engagement. The course is specifically designed for: Secondary school Headteachers Deputy Headteachers Members of the Senior Leadership Team Local Authority School Improvement Service officers SIPs Ofsted Inspectors
