- Additional Information
Each practical experiment will contain:
- Detailed information for technicians (equipment and reagents required, preparation and standardisation of solutions, assembling of apparatus, approximate relative cost of running the experiment for group of 20 students, risk assessment and safety, etc)
- Detailed instructions of the experiment, which can be photocopied for students, with suggestions to teachers on when to use it and how to introduce it to the class. A practical scenario can be set for certain experiments; e.g: a title such as Determination of the Relative Molecular Mass of a Group 2 Carbonate -
usually done with a sample of calcium or strontium carbonate - can be changed into Determination of the Content of Calcium Carbonate in Sea Shells or Snail Shells, making it more relevant and fun for students. - Student help sheet featuring important points such as the execution of the practical and processing of results.
- Relevant and/or related questions reinforcing the theory behind each practical.
- Model answers and results.
- Suggestions for related and/or alternative experiments.
- Suggested reading material.
